About Cotton Rouge & Company
Cotton Rouge & Company began in 2006 with a single artist — founder Katie Cotton — shortly after her move from Los Angeles to Greenville, South Carolina. Having worked professionally in Hollywood and the production world, Katie brought a level of on-location expertise that was uncommon in the Upstate at the time. While she loved working with celebrity and production clients, her passion quickly shifted toward helping everyday women feel confident, polished, and celebrated — whether for a wedding day, photoshoot, or special event.
What started as a solo venture quickly grew. As demand increased across bridal, commercial, and editorial work, it became clear that one artist — or even a small team — wasn’t enough to serve the Greenville market with the level of care and availability clients needed. By 2009, the Cotton Rouge & Company team officially began to expand, growing thoughtfully and intentionally over the years.
Where We Are Today
Today, Cotton Rouge & Company is a professional team of over 45 makeup and hair artists, servicing more than 900 weddings annually alongside countless photoshoots, commercial projects, and special events. Our size allows us to support wedding days of all scales while maintaining consistent standards, systems, and communication — something that has become a cornerstone of the CRC experience.
While the company has evolved through several studio locations over the years, in 2019 Cotton Rouge & Company found a permanent home in a historic house in Greenville’s Pettigru District. Our studio serves as a welcoming space for individual appointments and select bridal bookings, while on-location services remain at the heart of what we do. It is even available to rent for bridal party mornings!
