With 17 years of experience in the beauty industry, Julie Davis is a true creative force whose artistry spans bridal, commercial, editorial, fashion, film, and just about anywhere hair and makeup can become part of the story.
Her journey began in theater, where she first discovered the transformative power of hair and makeup. But it was seeing the empowerment and confidence that could come from her work that turned creativity into a career. Nearly two decades later, that remains at the heart of what she does.
Julie's skill set is as dynamic as her personality. Her experience includes makeup for all skin tones, textured hair, wig styling, airbrush artistry, special effects, bridal, film, and editorial work. She's also part of Cotton Rouge's commercial division and regularly lends her artistry to fashion shows, environments where her versatility, technical skill, and willingness to push creatively are right at home.
She's especially passionate about making every client feel seen, understood, and absolutely stunning. For Julie, every new face is another opportunity to create, and one of her greatest joys is taking someone's vision and figuring out how to make it real.
Since joining Cotton Rouge & Company three years ago, Julie has found an artistic community she loves. What stands out most to her is the team itself, a group of artists who are always willing to answer a question, lend a hand, or help one another succeed. MAC Paint Pots, NARS Concealer, Morphe Micro Brow Pencils, Maybelline Vinyl lip products, Inglot Gel Liner, and One/Size Setting Spray, which Julie describes simply as “magic.”
Underrated Favorite:
ColourPop lip liners. Julie owns close to every shade, which feels like fairly convincing product research.
Her Signature:
Edgy, bold, and a little alternative, with beautifully clean shadow work and a tendency to add just a little sparkle to everything. But versatility is part of Julie's artistry, and she's equally comfortable creating something soft, natural, and polished when that's what her client wants.
Skin First:
Great skin creates great makeup. Julie loves educating clients about skin prep and maintenance because what happens before the makeup can make all the difference in how beautifully it wears.
The Julie Effect:
If Julie starts making ridiculous faces while she's working, don't be alarmed. It just means she's concentrating. Apparently serious artistry requires deeply unserious facial expressions.
